Following the temporary closure of Abuja Airport due to emergency landing by Max Air, on Sunday, May 7th, 2023 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, Minister of Aviation, Hadi Abubakar Sirika, had announced that the aircraft had been towed clear and operation resumes fully at the airport within an hour of his announcement.
Sirika who made this announcement on his official twitter handle said
“I am happy to announce that the aircraft has been towed clear and we will open within an hour. Thanks for your patience and understanding”
He however appreciated the effort of the Fire Department for putting out the fire in good time and the operational staff of the airport for towing away the aircraft along the runway.
