The Coalition for Good Governance and Economic Justice in Africa is seeking to partner with all responsible citizens of Edo State who are passionate about accountability, transparency, and good governance in its quest to reveal the deteriorating state of primary and secondary schools across the villages, communities, and local government areas of the state.
John Mayaki, Country Director of the group made the call in a statement issued journalist today, June 11, 2023.
The statement reads: “Location is not a barrier; we need your assistance wherever you are. We kindly request that you take the initiative to visit the nearest primary and secondary schools in your vicinity and provide us with video and picture coverage that accurately portrays their current conditions”.

“It is imperative that you present an unbiased representation, showcasing both the strengths and the challenges these schools face. We encourage you to express your opinions freely and honestly and
to ensure the highest quality recordings, we are prepared to provide guidance on capturing professional-level videos using your smartphone”.
Mayaki however called on al interested Edo residents to reach out to the group for detailed instructions and recommendations on how to achieve the best possible results.
The Country Director of Coalition for Good Governance and Economic Justice in Africa is of the opinion that “through active citizen journalism, we can collectively shed light on the truth and give a voice to the pressing issues within our education system. Together, we can hold our leaders accountable and strive for the necessary improvements that will benefit our students and future generations”.
“We urge you to join us in this important endeavor to bring about positive change. Together, we can make a significant difference in Edo State’s education system” he concluded.
