Power Tussle in NAMTOP

 

Just like the Nigerian political scenarios, the chairmanship election that was conducted within members of National Association of Maritime Transport Operators (NAMTOP) on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 produced Mr. Moshood Adisa as the duly elected Chairman but some erring members of NAMTOP connived with some officials of Lagos State Ministry of Transportation out of their inability to accept his triumph, conspired to undermine his position and authority.

 

Having found himself in a web of power struggle and resistance from a section of NAMTOP backed with officials of Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, Mr. Moshood Adisa decided to approach the court of law to authenticate his emergence as the duly elected Chairman of NAMTOP and a suit constituted at the Lagos State High Court with Suit number: ID/7478GCM/2023.

 

Through this process of litigation, Mr. Moshood Adisa aims to expose the unfair practices and ensure that justice prevails. The case against the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation and the dissenting NAMTOP members shall highlight their failure to accept his election and their unauthorized attempts to conduct a parallel election.
