Barrister Mfon Usoro, former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), has been re-elected as the president of Chartered Institute of Transport and Logistics (CILT-Nigeria) for another 2-year tenure.
Bashir Ambi-Mohammed, CILT Publicity Committee Chairman, who made this known in a press statement issued on Monday, October 20, 2023 said the election was conducted by the Chairman Electoral Committee, Mrs. Rakiya Nuhu via a virtual platform for CILT members across the country.
According to him, the free and fair election has the following members as national executives of CLLT-NG; National President, Barr. (Mrs.) Mfon Ekong Usoro; Deputy National President, Dr. Aminu Yusuf Musa; Vice President North, Billy Edwin Filibus; Vice President East, Borlo Peter Barku; Vice President West, Usoro Samuel Udo; Aviation Mode Representative, Queen Ajayi.

Others are: Logistics Mode Representative, Ngozi Okoro Blessing; Maritime Mode Representative, Salim Bello; Pipeline Mode Representative, Olawoye Mobolaji; Road Mode Representative, Sani Mathew Ibrahim; Railway Mode Representative, Dauda Akinola Olabayo; and the Female Representative, Juliana Obiageli Saka.
In her appreciation remarks, Usoro while congratulating the newly members of the executives for embracing change and cooperating towards its success and not attempting to sabotage the process also commended the immediate past president of CILT, Mallam Jibril for introducing online voting saying “With this move, the transformed CILT has aligned with the modern processes of successful professional associations”
She, however, assured that the electoral process will continue to be fine-tuned to incorporate webinar manifesto evenings, scrutinize and verify achievements of officers who seek re-election, among others.
“I urge the outgoing and incoming officials to commence the handover and familiarization journey forthwith so that we hit the ground running after inauguration.
“My deep appreciation to my ever faithful professional colleagues. They have been steadfast even without any personal benefit like appointment to offices accruing by virtue of having voted for me the last time. I love you. You make the efforts worthwhile for me.
