Revenue: Apapa Customs set to Generate over N1. 8trillion in 2024

- as 74 officers gain promotion in Apapa Command

 

 

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Apapa Area Command has set every motion in place to surpass the
N1. 172 trillion revenue generated in 2023.

Comptroller Babajide Jaiyeoba, Apapa Customs Area Controller who made this disclosure in his opening remark during the ceremony marking the decoration of 74 newly promoted officers and men in Apapa Area Command on Wednesday, January 10, 2024
said “the 2023 revenue of N1. 172 trillion was the highest in the history of the command”.

According to him, “the command is set to meet and surpass the N1.8 trillion revenue target which is likely to be assigned to the command this year.

Foowimg the promotion exercise conducted last year,
Six Deputy Comptrollers were promoted to full-fledged Comptrollers, 10 Assistant Comptrollers were promoted to Deputy Comptrollers, 31 Chief Superintendent of Customs were promoted to Assistant Comptrollers while 27 Superintendents of Customs were promoted to Chief Superintendent of Customs.

In his congratulatory message, Comptroller Jaiyeoba admonished the newly promoted officers to put in more hardwork in the service of the nation.
He said “the newly promoted officers must work hard in meeting the revenue target expected to be released soon.

Jaiyeoba who lauded the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, for his leadership qualities especially in the welfarism of officers and men of the Nigeria Customs Service however noted that for the first time the NCS was able to conduct promotion examination and have the results released the same year.

The Area Comptroller also advised other officers who are yet to benefit to continually put in their best in the discharge of their duties by assuring them that their hardwork will pay off at the end.
