Osun Athletes Triumphs at National Taekwondo Trials

...set to Represent Nigeria at The All Africa Games

It was an excellent performance for Osun Taekwondo Team at the just concluded National Taekwondo Trials which took place in Abuja as they claimed One Gold Medal, Two Silver Medals and Two Bronze Medals, totalling Five Medals.

The trials which serves as preparation for the All Africa Games 2024 had in attendance athletes from states of the federation who converged on Moshood Abiola National Velodrome, Package B, Abuja to jostle for medals.

Aderibigbe Faridah was the star of the show for team Osun as she claimed Gold in the 53kg female category.

The duo of Aderibigbe Fatimah and Popoola Amos won Silver Medals. Aderibigbe Fatimah won her silver in the 67kg female category while Popoola Amos claimed his Silver Medal in the 54kg male category.

Osunkorede Deborah and Mukaila Barakat rounded off the medal haul for team Osun by claiming Bronze Medals in 73kg and 53kg respectively in the female category.

After the stellar performance from team Osun, the athletes awaits call ups into the national camp in full preparation for the All Africa Games coming up later this year in Ghana.

The athletes however, appreciate the State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, the Deputy Governor who doubles as the Commissioner for Sports, Prince Kola Adewusi, the SA Sports, Prince Kolawole Adeyemi, SSA Sports, Culture and Art, Hon. Shefiu Iyiola, the General Manager of Osun State Sports Council, Mr Rotimi Dunmoye and the Director Sports, Coaching and Training, Mr Ademola Daini for making it possible to participate in the championship.
