CGC Adeniyi Hosts Former CG Mustapha at Customs Headquarters

The Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi, on Tuesday, 20 May 2024, hosts the erstwhile Comptroller-General of Customs, Ahmed Mustapha, at the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Headquarters in Abuja.

Former CGC Mustapha, who served from 1999 to 2004, communicated his ardent appreciation and reverence for the broad changes and progressions the Service has experienced since he left office.

During his visit, Mustapha commented, “I am profoundly awed by the changes that have taken place within the Nigeria Customs Service since I left office in 2004. The progressions in innovation, framework, and in general effectiveness are commendable and reflect the commitment of the current administration and staff.”

CGC Adewale Adeniyi warmly invited the former CGC and acknowledged Mustapha’s visit. “It is an honour to receive former CGC Ahmed Mustapha today. His commitments laid a strong establishment for the progress we are building upon. I am thankful that he found the time to visit and see firsthand the improvements at the NCS headquarters.”

Adeniyi also asked the management team to connect in the delight of facilitating Mustapha, highlighting the significance of perceiving the endeavors of past pioneers in forming the future of the benefit. “We stand on the shoulders of those who came before us,” Adeniyi noted.

“Their legacy and hard work have paved the way for the advancements and improvement we are executing today.”

The visit was stamped by a visit of the headquarters, where Mustapha was shown the most recent innovative headways of the Pre-Arrival Assessment Report (PAAR) Centre, which have improved the productivity and adequacy of the NCS.

The meeting concluded with both pioneers underlining the significance of progression and the sharing of information over diverse periods of authority.
