The Headfort Foundation for Justice observed Children’s Day 2024 at the Special Correctional Centre for Boys in Oregun, Lagos using the opportunity to counsel the children on the importance of avoiding involvement in criminal activities.

Mrs. Oriyomi Orija, the Executive Director of the Foundation, emphasized that their presence at the Correctional Center aimed to bring joy, happiness, and love to children who are away from their homes due to various circumstances.

Orija, represented by the Foundation’s Legal Head, Amosun Mauyon, stressed the need for children to steer clear of crime as it hinders their ability to achieve their life goals.

She urged them to report bullying incidents to the appropriate authorities and expressed gratitude to the Lagos Food Bank and Arogi Trauma Care Foundation for collaborating with the foundation to make the celebration meaningful.

Adedeji Odusanya, a Clinical Psychologist from the Arogi Trauma Care Foundation, advised the children to navigate challenges cautiously, acknowledging the temptations and pressures they face during adolescence.

He encouraged them to understand their developmental stage and learn to control their emotions, suggesting that they leverage the internet to educate themselves about adolescence.
