The Buy Made in Nigeria Project Office Abuja has announced the Buy Made in Nigeria Cars Expo and Exhibition, slated for Abuja later this year, and the World Automobile and Automotive Expo in Tokyo, set for January 2025.
These events aim to showcase Nigerian-made automotive products to a global audience.
The Buy Made in Nigeria Project Office Abuja is spearheading these initiatives to introduce Nigeria’s products and services to international markets. National Coordinator and Executive Director, Nwabueze Buchi George emphasized the significance of these expos in elevating Nigeria’s automotive industry on the world stage.
“This is a pivotal moment for Nigeria’s automotive sector,” said Buchi George, highlighting that promoting locally produced goods will boost economic growth and enhance Nigeria’s global standing. “The Buy Made in Nigeria Project is about more than just promoting local businesses; it’s about fostering economic development in line with global standards.”
Innoson Motors, a prominent name in Nigeria’s automotive sector, will lead the Nigerian delegation at both events. Buchi George underscored Innoson Motors’ role as a pioneer of Nigeria’s automotive prowess and acknowledged the support of other companies in this collaborative effort.
The Buy Made in Nigeria Cars Expo and Exhibition is a joint initiative between the Buy Made in Nigeria Project Office Abuja and the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).
The event will also be hosted in East African nations such as Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, and Ethiopia.
A committee of partnering agencies has been formed to ensure the success of these events. While the Abuja event’s date is still pending, the Tokyo expo will take place from January 22-24, 2025. Buchi George emphasized Tokyo’s role as a global hub for the automobile industry, noting that hosting the expo there will inspire significant partnerships and development.
