CAAF24 re-echoes Africa’s Urgency for Climate Change

Climate Action Africa 2024 marks a vital moment in the global trouble to address climate change in Nigeria and Africa in general.

CAAF24 is convened by Climate Action Africa (CAA), leading environmental lawyers and stakeholder in climate change advocacy ecosystem.

CAAF24 aims to intoxicate action and emphasize the critical need for climate action across diligence and communities across Africa.

The event, held at the prestigious Landmark Center, brought together a different array of stakeholders including government officers, business leaders, academics, civil society representatives and the media.

The theme of this 2024’s forum,” Green husbandry, Brighter Futures,” highlights the imperative for immediate and collaborative action in mollifying the goods of climate change in Africa and achieving global sustainability pretensions.

“CAAF24 serves as a critical platform for dialogue and collaboration,” said Grace Oluchi Mbah,Co-Founder and Executive Director of CAA.

“With the event, we aim to increase education and mindfulness on climate change, show inventions and systems driving Africa to a sustainable future, and further laboriously contribute to the expansion of Africa’s green frugality.”

The programme featured addresses from Her Excellency, Madame Ramatoulaye Diallo Ndiaye, Former Minister of Culture Mali and Author and CEO of the Great Green Wall of Africa( GGWoA) Foundation who was the special keynote speaker.

There were rout sessions for panel conversations and shops that concentrated on crucial issues similar as the eventuality of timbers and carbon credits, climate backing, Nigeria’s carbon request activation, marshaling private capital for climate-positive investments in Africa.

Others included erecting flexible and inhabitable African metropolises and further.

Sessions were designed to encourage interactive participation and exchange of ideas among actors from different backgrounds and sectors.

In addition to formal sessions, CAAF24 included networking openings and showcased the selection of outstanding inventions from over 800 registerations through the Deal Room, a platform that connected high- impact climate originators in Africa with implicit investors seeking to accelerate sustainable results.

Other highlights at CAAF24 were the audacious launch of the Billion Trees for Africa Initiative as part of CAA’s community programmes and the unearthing of the Pan-African Green Economy Program (PAGEr), a cooperation with IDEA AFRICA and the Author Institute that seeks to grow a new generation of 5,000 green originators across Africa by 2035.

The selection of Omoniyi Praise (1st position), Treasure Nwosu (2nd position) and Alabi Abimbola (3rd position) as winners for the Climate Champion Quest organised by STEAM Funfest also stood out at CAAF24.

As Africa faces increasingly severe climate impacts, CAAF24 is a platform that is committed to unifying the participation of different stakeholders in advancing and achieving climate action in Africa.

By buttressing the urgency of climate change through meaningful dialogue and collaboration, CAAF24 inspires concrete way towards a more sustainable and indifferent future for all.
