The Customs Area Controller, Apapa Command, Comptroller Babatunde Olomu on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 participated in the “Walk Against Drugs” in commemoration of “2024 International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking”.
Comptroller Olomu joined the Commander NDLEA, Apapa Special Area Command, and other government agencies in the port to create awareness on the dangers inherent in drug abuse through their walk today.
The Customs boss noted that such collaboration between sister agencies of government is crucial for intelligence sharing and ensuring public safety.
He further noted that by working together, security agencies can achieve greater success and better protect their communities than they could alone.
Chief Superintendent of Customs Abubakar Usman, Public Relations Officer of Apapa Command in a statement revealed that the theme of this year’s event is “The Evidence is Clear: Invest on Prevention”.
The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was set aside by the United Nations, it is observed annually on 26 June, since 1989.
