Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State says that Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education is the way to go as it prepares scholars for technology-driven society and the future.
Soludo who was represented by his Deputy, Dr Onyekachi Ibezim, made the assertion at the flag- off of the preface of STEM education and distribution of wisdom laboratory outfit to public secondary seminaries in the state.
He said there was the need to embrace STEM education as the world was going digital with wisdom and technology.

“I hold the education sector so dearly, this is why we introduce free education policy, reclamation of preceptors and structure upgrade in our seminaries to ameliorate our tutoring and literacy terrain.
“But wisdom is the way to go and we can not develop and contend encyclopedically if we do not introduce STEM education. The world will leave us behind.
“STEM education will edge the creative thinking of scholars, prepare and equip them with the chops demanded to exceed in a fleetly-changing, technology- driven society.
“With this laboratory outfit, tutoring an literacy will be delightful, hands- on, accessible, sustainable, relatable; while inculcating critical thinking capability, problem identification and working chops,” he said.
The Governor prompted the seminaries to put the outfit to good use to impact appreciatively on the lives of the scholars as well as prepare them for arising challenges and to be tone- reliant in future.
Also speaking, Dr Uchenna Ezeogu, a representative of GEOGRO Global coffers Ltd, the supplier of the lab outfit, said numerous seminaries in the state had dilapidated or outdated laboratory outfit which made literacy delicate for scholars.
“We conducted a need assessment of seminaries and discovered they were lacking in ultramodern lab outfit. This was why Gov. Soludo approved the force of these outfit and reagents.
“These scholars are lucky to have these outfit and I prompt them to make the state proud by equipping themselves and contending encyclopedically in the field of wisdom and technology,” he said.
In her address, Prof. Nkechi Ikediugwu, Chairman, Post Primary Schools Service Commission, prompted the scholars to stand up for their future and be applicable in the period of wisdom and technology.
Ikediugwu thanked the Governor for his efforts to take the state’s education sector to lesser heights.
