President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the introduction of a National Youth Conference to tackle the different challenges and openings defying the young people, who constitute more than 60 per cent of Nigeria’s population.

The President made this known on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, while addressing the nation during the celebration of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary.
According to him,”the Conference will enhance meaningful dialogue and empower our youth to share laboriously in nation-building. By icing that their voices are heard in shaping the programs that impact their lives, we’re creating a pathway for a brighter hereafter.
“The 30-day Confab will unite youthful people civil to collaboratively develop results to issues similar as education, employment, invention, security, and social justice. The modalities of this Confab and selection of delegates will be designed in close discussion with our youthful people through their representatives. Through this confab, it will be our job as leaders to insure that their bournes are at the heart of the conference’s reflections.
“The government will completely consider and apply the recommendations and issues from this forum as we remain bent in our charge to make a further inclusive, prosperous, and united Nigeria.
“Our government is enforcing several other youth-centric programmes to give our youthful people an advantage in the fleetly changing world. We’re enforcing, amongst others, the 3 million Technical Talents Programme (3MTT) of the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, aimed at erecting Nigeria’s specialized gift backbone.
“We have also enthusiastically enforced the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which provides cheap loans to our scholars to pursue their tertiary educational dreams. In addition, latterly this month, we shall launch The Renewed Hope Labour Employment and commission Programme (LEEP). It is conceived as a comprehensive suite of interventions at job creation by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment that’s aimed at easing the creation of 2.5 million jobs, directly and laterally, on an periodic incremental base whilst contemporaneously icing the weal and safety of workers across the country” he stated.
