FG distributes bags of rice, PoS machines, others to less-privileged in Anambra

The Federal Government has distributed bags of rice, gas cylinders, fertilizer, and Point of Sale (PoS) machines to empower the less-privileged in Anambra.

The palliatives included 5,000 10kg bags of rice, over 500 bags of fertilizers, 500 PoS machines and 300 3kg gas cylinders donated by Chief Executive Officer, Smart Gas, Yinka Okpeke.

The distribution exercise took place at Umudioka community in Awka South Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday.

Addressing the beneficiaries while distributing the palliatives released to the state by President Bola Tinubu-led Administration, Mrs Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, Minister of Women Affairs, reassured the people of the President’s commitment to their welfare and security.

She urged Nigerians to exercise patience with President Tinubu to as he strives to address the economic challenges experienced in the country.

“President Tinubu meant well for the country through his policies to make life more meaningful for Nigerians.

“I’m appealing that we should be patient with him, In no distant time, his policies will begin to yield results and we will all benefit immensely.

“I’m representing the whole of Anambra at the federal level and I will continue to ensure that our people get their share of what is due to them.

“I solicit your support for us to help President Tinubu to make Nigeria a better country,” she said.

The Minister urged residents to key into the federal government’s social security initiatives to benefit from the schemes.

Also speaking, Gov. Chukwuma Soludo, commended the federal government for the efforts targeted at improving the lots of women and the vulnerable in the state.

Soludo who was represented by Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs Ify Obinabo, also appreciate the minister for making the state proud with her initiatives.

In his remarks, Chief Basil Ejidike,
State Chairman, All Progressives Congress, thanked President Tinubu for the choice of Anambra’s daughter as minister.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Emilia Ofor from Umuokpu community in Awka, thanked the Federal Government for showing concern to the plight of the people, especially the most vulnerable in the state.
