Nigeria Tribune’s Tola Adenubi has been announced as the winner of Dr. Pius Akutah’s Maritime Reporter of the Year 2024.
This announcement was made on Tuesday in Lagos during the 27th Maritime Industry Merit Awards (MIMA 2025) organized by Maritime Media Limited.

The Dr. Pius Akutah’s Maritime Reporter of the Year 2024 also came wirh a cheque presentation of One Million Naira cash reward.
Adenubi, a versatile maritime journalist was recently elected Chairman, Transportation Correspondents Association of Nigeria (TCAN).
Other recipient of awards in MIMA 2025 includes Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State (Best Maritime Friendly Governor), Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos (Most Outstanding Governor-Maritime Infrastructure Development), Dr. Pius Akutah (Maritime Man of the Year 2024 Award), Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho (Most Promising Maritime CEO 2024), Engr. Mrs. Sarat Braimah (Maritime Woman of the Year 2024).
Others are ACG Dera Nnadi (Most Outstanding Customs Area Controller – Anti Drug), Dr. Babatunde Olomu (Most Outstanding Customs Area Controller – Revenue Generation), Comptr. Mohammed Babandede (Most Outstanding Customs Area Controller – Anti Smuggling) among others.
Maritime Industry Merit Awards is a yearly event that aims at promoting excellence in Nigeria’s Maritime and Blue Economy.
