Chief of Naval Engineering visits Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command

The Chief of Naval Engineering, Rear Admiral Baratuaipri Iyalla has paid a courtesy visit to the Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral Saheed Adeshina Akinwande in a significant move to bolster the Nigerian Navy’s prowess.

 

This is according to the statement issued by Sub Lieutenant Happiness Collins, Acting CINFO, Headquarters Eastern Naval Command and made available to journalists.

 

The statement reads: “This high-level meeting on Friday April 25, 2025 served as a catalyst for exploring innovative opportunities to augment the Navy’s financial and operational capacities.

“Rear Admiral Akinwande underscored pivotal areas ripe for development, while Rear Admiral Iyalla emphasized the need for diversifying funding sources, including commercial initiatives, to drive impactful projects.

 

According to the CINFO, the essence of the meeting is focusing on four major areas which is to Update the Naval Engineering Branch’s requirements to reflect current realities. Maximize available funds, explore alternative funding sources, and do more with less. Improve efficiency and resource utilization by refining processes, procedures, systems, and standards. And, Prioritize training and welfare initiatives for officers and men,”

The gathering brought together distinguished officers, including the Fleet Commander Eastern Fleet and Commander Fleet Support Group.
