In a major breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested eleven (11) suspected drug dealers and seized sixty-eight (68) bags of substances believed to be cannabis during a string of coordinated raids across the territory.

The operations, spearheaded by the Command’s Anti-Narcotics Unit, targeted several known drug black spots within Abuja and its environs. The raids were part of a broader initiative aimed at dismantling criminal supply networks and curbing drug-related offences in the nation’s capital.

Speaking on the development, a spokesperson for the FCT Police Command said the operation marks a significant stride in ongoing efforts to rid the city of illicit substances and reduce drug-fueled criminal activities.

“These arrests are a clear message to drug traffickers: the FCT is not a safe haven for crime. We are committed to breaking the supply chains and ensuring harmful substances stay off our streets,” the spokesperson stated.

The Command emphasized that the crackdown is ongoing and urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and actionable information that can aid in future operations.

As authorities continue to root out drug networks across the FCT, this latest bust highlights the Command’s renewed resolve to protect communities and reinforce the capital’s security architecture.

The FCT Police reaffirmed their dedication to maintaining law and order and pledged that more operations will follow as they strive to make the Federal Capital Territory a safer place for all.
