In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, the Command congratulated the people of Kano and extended warm felicitations as they prepare for the annual religious gathering.
With thousands of participants expected from within Nigeria and beyond, the police urged celebrants to uphold Kano’s reputation for hospitality, peace, and cultural values. The statement also warned against carrying dangerous weapons, drug abuse, or any form of deviant behavior that could mar the event.
“Adequate security measures have been concluded to guarantee a hitch-free Maukibi. Anyone attempting to cause disruption will be arrested, investigated, and prosecuted in accordance with the law,” the Command stressed.
The Command further appealed for vigilance, urging members of the public to promptly report suspicious activities through any of these emergency hotlines: 08032419754, 08123821575, and 09029292926.
The Maukibi Celebration, a significant annual religious procession, attracts thousands of faithful and visitors to Kano, reinforcing the city’s place as a hub of Islamic tradition and cultural heritage.
