LASAA Investigates Staff Over Alleged Misuse of Official Payment Channels

By Ajibola Adedoye

The Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA) has launched an internal probe into allegations that a staff member received payments for signage-related services through a personal bank account — a move said to contravene established government financial procedures.

The allegations, which surfaced in a viral social media post, prompted swift action from LASAA’s management. In an official statement, the Agency described the alleged act as a serious breach of ethical and financial regulations guiding both the Agency and the Lagos State Civil Service.

Acting on the directive of the Honourable Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, the staff member in question has been identified and ordered to report to LASAA’s Head Office for immediate questioning and disciplinary proceedings in line with the Public Service Rules.

“LASAA remains committed to transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct in all its operations,” the statement read. “All payments for LASAA services must be made exclusively through officially designated government channels.”

The Agency commended members of the public for their vigilance in flagging irregularities and assured stakeholders that corrective measures will be taken to preserve public trust and uphold institutional integrity.

LASAA added that it will provide updates as the investigation progresses, reiterating its zero-tolerance policy toward misconduct and financial impropriety within the organization.
