Apanisile Strengthens Grassroots Development Through Project Inspection

... Engages Stakeholders Across Ikorodu North LCDA

Mayor Ameen Olawale Ibrahim Apanisile of Ikorodu North LCDA has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive and people-centered governance through a day filled with inspections, consultations, and stakeholder engagements across the division.

The Mayor began the day with a comprehensive inspection tour of ongoing infrastructural projects, underscoring his resolve to sustain the pace of transformation across communities.
Projects inspected included:

  • Upgrading of the Marriage Registry
  • Renovation of the Area Offices at LASMA Yard
  • Construction of Apeka Culvert
  • Construction of Oju Emuren–Agbede Road (facilitated by Senator Tokunbo Abiru)
  • Complete Renovation of the Children’s Consultation Ground at Odo Nla Primary Health Centre
  • Complete Renovation of Odo Nla Area Office PHC
  • Complete Renovation of the Doctor’s Residence at Odo Nla PHC
  • Construction of a Solarized Water Facility and Rehabilitation of Sanitation Facilities at Agbodo Alara Nursery and Primary School

Expressing satisfaction with the progress, Mayor Apanisile commended the contractors’ performance while urging faster completion timelines. He emphasized that these projects are pivotal to improving quality of life and promoting sustainable community growth.

He was accompanied by key legislative and executive officials, including Hon. Abosede Benson (Leader of the Legislative Arm), Hon. Idris Iliasu (Deputy Leader), Hon. Babatunde Banjoko (Majority Leader), Hon. Onabajo Oluwaseyi (Chief Whip), Hon. Risikat Abiodun Ibrahim (Member), Mr. Mojeed Mayowa (Chief of Staff), and several heads of departments and units.

In a show of solidarity and collaboration, the Ikorodu Division Council Leaders Forum paid a courtesy visit to the Mayor.
The delegation, led by Hon. Oluwole Adeshina (Council Leader, Imota LCDA & State Vice Chairman of the Forum), included legislative leaders from across Ikorodu’s LCDAs.

They commended Mayor Apanisile for his notable progress within a short time in office and pledged to strengthen cooperation between the legislative and executive arms for sustained progress.

Responding, the Mayor appreciated their visit and assured them of continuous engagement, stressing the importance of synergy for effective governance and shared development.

Members of the Justice Forum (JF) Ikorodu North LCDA also met with the Mayor to acknowledge his administration’s achievements and commitment to fairness and inclusivity.

Led by Hon. Sulaimon Adewusi (JF Chairman) and Hon. Odidi Jimoh (Forum Leader in Ikorodu North), the delegation included several prominent political figures and community leaders.

Hon. Adewusi praised the Mayor’s developmental strides and pledged the Forum’s unwavering support for the administration’s initiatives.

In his response, Mayor Apanisile reiterated his focus on equitable governance and unity, promising continued infrastructural and social development that benefits all residents, regardless of affiliation.

The day’s activities concluded with a visit from the Ikorodu Scout Division, led by Pastor (Scouter) MIGF Oyewole (State Headquarters Commissioner, Grassroots Ikorodu) and Kim Abdulhakeem ‘Segun Agbaje (Divisional Commissioner, Ikorodu Scout Division).

The delegation discussed the development of Scouting in Ikorodu North and preparations for the 20th Eko Commissioners Camp, scheduled for November 14–16, 2025.

They proposed initiatives including the induction of Mayor Apanisile as Grand Patron, the distribution of free uniforms to young Scouts, and the naming of beneficiaries as “Mayor Ameen Apanisile Scouts.”

Mayor Apanisile warmly welcomed the proposals, reflecting on his own background as a Scout and affirming his commitment to youth empowerment.
“I was once a Scout myself,” he smiled, recalling the Cub Scout motto — ‘Do Your Best.’
He praised the Scouts for their contributions to discipline and leadership development, assuring them of full support from his administration.

From inspecting critical infrastructure to engaging legislative leaders, political forums, and youth organizations, Mayor Ameen Apanisile continues to model inclusive and purposeful leadership.
His administration remains committed to advancing development, strengthening institutions, and empowering citizens — positioning Ikorodu North LCDA as a beacon of progressive local governance.
