In a heartwarming display of kindness and compassion, Action for Change and Empowerment (A.C.E) and The IREDE Foundation have joined forces to change the lives of four child amputees in Nigeria. The duo recently handed over prosthetic limbs to the young beneficiaries as part of the 2025 Limb Empowerment Project.
The handover ceremony marked the culmination of the project’s intervention, which provided support to children aged between two and 18. Speaking at the event, Ms. Chiamaka Ukpanwanne, A.C.E Deputy Country Manager and Project Coordinator, highlighted the partnership’s success in expanding its reach across the country.
“The partnership has been fantastic, and we’re thrilled to see children living with disabilities become more independent,” Ukpanwanne said. The project has supported four champions from different regions, with two beneficiaries being as young as two and four years old.

The IREDE Foundation, which empowers children by providing prosthetic limbs to child amputees, aims to educate the public, caregivers, and parents about congenital and acquired limb loss, and the need to care for them.
A parent, Mr. Collins Chukwu, expressed gratitude for the life-changing support given to his son, Miracle, who lost his limb in an accident. “He can now move, play, and do things like other children. We’re truly grateful,” he said.
This inspiring initiative is a testament to the power of collaboration and the positive change it can bring to young lives. Both A.C.E and The IREDE Foundation hope to expand the programme in future years to support even more children living with limb loss across Nigeria.
