SIFAX Group and the Port Authority Police (Western) Command have agreed to deepen collaboration aimed at enhancing safety and operational efficiency across Lagos ports.
The commitment was reaffirmed during a courtesy visit by the newly appointed Commissioner of Police, Port Authority Police (Western) Command, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Iyabode Agbaminoja, to the SIFAX Group headquarters. Receiving the delegation, Chairman of SIFAX Group, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, emphasized that sustainable port security depends on strong partnerships among stakeholders within the maritime ecosystem.
Afolabi noted that supporting the Police Command is critical to protecting lives and property, preserving port infrastructure, and ensuring a conducive environment for legitimate commercial activities. He praised CP Agbaminoja’s track record across previous maritime-related postings and expressed confidence in her capacity to deliver results in her new role.

Highlighting SIFAX Group’s long-standing collaboration with security agencies nationwide, Afolabi reiterated the company’s readiness to cooperate with and support initiatives of the Port Authority Police Command. According to him, effective security can only be achieved through shared responsibility and coordinated action.
In her remarks, CP Agbaminoja commended SIFAX Group for its contributions to the maritime industry, explaining that the visit was intended to further strengthen ties between the Command and the company, given their shared commitment to maritime security.
Members of the SIFAX Group management team present included Wunmi Eniola-Jegede, Group Coordinating Director; John Jenkins, Managing Director, Ports and Cargo Handling Services Limited; Oliver Omajuwa, Deputy Director, Strategy and Operations; and Olumuyiwa Akande, Group Head, Corporate Communications.
The Police Commissioner was accompanied by senior officers of the Command, including Inusa Karyah, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Operations); Olufikayo Fawole, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Administration); Sunday Adeyeri, Area Commander, Western Ports; and ASP Isaac Hundeyin, Command Public Relations Officer.
