In a day marked by strategic stakeholder engagements, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mayor Ameen Olawale Ibrahim Apanisile, received two prominent delegations committed to the development of the region.
The Mayor first welcomed the Forum of Ikorodu Indigenes in Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) on a congratulatory and courtesy visit to the Council Secretariat. The delegation, led by Prince Afeez Laketu (Chairman) and Princess Alhaja Kafilat Owokodu (Secretary), praised the Mayor’s achievements and presented him with a commemorative plaque in recognition of his leadership and dedication to community advancement.
The LIRS delegation also included Hon. Majekodunmi Ibrahim, Dr. Bisiriyu Samson, and other key forum executives.

In his remarks, Mayor Apanisile emphasized his administration’s commitment to improving the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of Ikorodu North. He called on professionals and stakeholders within and outside the LCDA to support initiatives that promote transparency, accountability, and sustainable growth.
“Our focus is on inclusive development. Increasing our IGR is vital to achieving self-sufficiency, and your support means a lot,” he said.
Lions Club Visit: Partnering for Humanity
In a separate session, the Lagos Victoria Boglo Lions Club, District 404B, paid a courtesy visit to the Mayor, who is also a Director of Club Operations and Policy Execution within the club. The Lions Club team, led by President Lion Olufunmi Oshinloye and Secretary Lion Yomi Shoderu, expressed their admiration for the Mayor’s leadership and pledged continued collaboration on humanitarian efforts.
The visit served as an opportunity to explore new partnership areas in healthcare, education, youth empowerment, and community service.
Mayor Apanisile welcomed the team warmly and commended their track record in humanitarian work, stating:
“Our administration is committed to supporting organisations like the Lions Club that are passionate about touching lives and transforming communities.”
Other Lions Club members present included Lion Bamidele Olanitori (Vice President), Lion Hon. Basirat Adewunmi (former WAPA, Ikorodu North LCDA), and several others.
Charting a Path Forward Together
Both meetings ended with renewed hope and a shared commitment to move Ikorodu North forward. The Mayor appreciated both delegations for their visit, assuring them of the Council’s continued readiness to collaborate for the betterment of the community.
“Ikorodu North is rising, and it’s because of partners like you. Let’s keep building—together,” Mayor Apanisile concluded.
