Mayor Ameen Olawale Ibrahim Apanisile, the Executive Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA has extend his heartfelt congratulations to all Nigerians, especially residents of Ikorodu North LCDA as Nigeria celebrates her 65th Independence Anniversary today saying we honour the courage, vision, and sacrifices of our founding fathers, whose struggles secured the freedom we now enjoy. Their legacy challenges us not only to remember but also to build.
According to the statement issued to journalists, Apanisile said: “As we reflect on our journey as a nation, we must celebrate our progress in governance, education, entrepreneurship, and community resilience, while also confronting the challenges that remain. Issues of poverty, unemployment, inadequate infrastructure, and security concerns require our collective commitment and sustained action. Reflection must therefore translate into renewed dedication to nation-building.
“At the local government level, Ikorodu North LCDA remains steadfast in its responsibility to deliver transparent, people-focused governance. Our administration is committed to improving infrastructure, expanding access to clean water and sanitation, strengthening healthcare and education, empowering our youth, and working closely with security agencies to safeguard our communities.”
The Chairman who used the privilege to call on all residents to be active partners in this mission saying “Let us reject division and intolerance, and instead embrace unity, mutual respect, and civic responsibility. Participate in community sanitation drives, support local initiatives, mentor young people, and obey the laws that keep us safe. Parents, faith leaders, business owners, and community groups each have a role in shaping the brighter future we desire.
“To our youth: your energy, creativity, and ambition are the lifeblood of our nation’s future. Channel them into enterprise, innovation, and service. To our public servants and partners: remain committed to integrity and purpose in all you do. To our security and emergency personnel: we thank you deeply for your sacrifice and assure you of our continued support.
“As we celebrate this day, let us do so responsibly, joyfully, and prayerfully. May this Independence rekindle our resolve to work together — government and citizens — for peace, unity, and shared prosperity. With wisdom, courage, and cooperation, we can together achieve the Nigeria of our dreams” he concluded.
