The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Lateef Ashimi, has joined family, friends, and political associates to celebrate Apostle Peter Oyewusi, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Apex Leaders in Somolu Federal Constituency, on the occasion of his 80th birthday.
Hon. Ashimi, in a heartfelt tribute, described the octogenarian as “a beacon of faith and politics whose life epitomizes service, sacrifice, and resilience.”

He noted that Apostle Oyewusi’s journey — from his early days in Fadeyi to his role as a political and spiritual father in Somolu and Bariga — reflects a lifetime of commitment to God, community, and party leadership.
“At 80, Apostle Oyewusi remains a source of stability and inspiration. His wisdom continues to guide our political family, while his teachings and spiritual counsel have nurtured countless families and young people across our communities,” the council chairman said.
Hon. Ashimi praised the celebrant’s rare feat of reaching the “Oak Milestone,” which he said symbolizes not just longevity but also an enduring legacy of impact that cuts across governance, religion, and grassroots development.
He further prayed for Apostle Oyewusi’s continued good health, renewed strength, and divine wisdom to keep leading and inspiring the younger generation.
“On behalf of the government and good people of Somolu Local Government, I heartily celebrate our leader at 80. May this new age open golden opportunities for our communities, herald progress, stability, and blessings, and continue to strengthen the bond of unity in Somolu and Bariga,” Ashimi stated.
