The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mayor Ameen Olawale Ibrahim Apanisile, has joined millions around the world to celebrate educators on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day 2025, describing teachers as “the torchbearers of knowledge and the architects of our collective future.”
In his goodwill message titled “Happy Teachers’ Day 2025,” Mayor Apanisile commended teachers for their invaluable role in shaping generations, instilling discipline, and building the moral and intellectual foundations of society.
“Today, we celebrate the heroes whose impact goes beyond the classroom — our teachers. They are the torchbearers of knowledge, patience, and discipline, shaping generations and building the foundation of our collective future,” he said.

The council boss expressed profound appreciation to teachers across Ikorodu North LCDA and beyond, acknowledging their resilience, sacrifice, and commitment to nurturing young minds despite challenges.
“Your dedication, resilience, and passion for nurturing young minds remain the driving force behind every success story in our communities,” he added.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to education, Mayor Apanisile pledged continued investment in initiatives that enhance teachers’ welfare and improve the quality of learning for every child in the council area.
“Education remains a top priority for us, and we will continue to support initiatives that enhance the welfare of teachers and improve the quality of education for every child,” he stated.
He concluded by celebrating teachers as selfless nation-builders who deserve recognition and respect for their daily contributions to society’s progress.
