Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has recorded ₦3.68 trillion in revenue in the first half of 2025, surpassing its target by almost 12% and reflecting a 25% increase over the same period last year.
Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, disclosed this on Tuesday after chairing the 63rd quarterly meeting of the NCS Board at the Customs House, Maitama, Abuja.
He attributed the performance to ongoing reforms and technology adoption within the Service, stressing that revenue inflows into the Federation Account were vital for all tiers of government.

“Customs has demonstrated that reforms and technology can significantly enhance revenue mobilization. The revenue being generated supports the budgets of the federal, state, and local governments,” he said.
Edun also announced that the National Single Window (NSW) project will be rolled out in the first quarter of 2026, describing it as a game-changer for trade facilitation.
The platform, a flagship reform of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, will unify all trade-related agencies on a digital system, reduce bureaucracy, and cut clearance costs for importers and exporters.
“The National Single Window will revolutionise trade by eliminating bottlenecks, reducing costs, and speeding up cargo clearance. This will directly strengthen Nigeria’s competitiveness and stabilise the economy,” he explained.
Customs has already deployed World Customs Organisation (WCO)-accredited officers to lead system design, vendor selection, and deployment, with continued technical backing from the Trade Modernization Project Limited.
The Minister noted that the reform complements wider fiscal measures already stabilizing inflation, improving the exchange rate, and strengthening Nigeria’s foreign reserves.
“With the Single Window in place, we expect greater efficiency and stronger economic returns that will support national growth and stability,” Edun assured.
