The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has extended warm felicitations to Muslims in Nigeria and around the world on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Maulud, marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

In his goodwill message, MWUN President-General, Comrade Francis Bunu Abi, commended Muslim faithful for their resilience amid prevailing economic and social challenges, praising their demonstration of love, charity, and unity in line with the teachings of the Prophet.

He urged Nigerians of all faiths to embrace love and peaceful coexistence, describing peace as a cornerstone of Islam and a prerequisite for national stability.

“Our society cannot thrive without love and harmony across religious lines. Islam is a religion of peace and abhors violence. We must always remember that all human beings are creatures of Almighty Allah and from the same source of life,” he said.

Comrade Bunu also applauded Muslim communities nationwide for their patience and tolerance, stressing that such virtues are vital in tackling insecurity and fostering unity. He encouraged Muslims to reflect on the Prophet’s exemplary life of forgiveness, kindness, and service to humanity.

“As we celebrate, let us emulate the Prophet’s qualities—doing good, shunning rancor, and showing compassion. These are the supreme values that bind us together as one people under God,” the union leader added.
